How the work is done here
These are the same commitments we publish to clients. They describe your working week.
You build to a written specification
Every project has a document that says what the system does and how we will know it works. You build against it, and you help write it.
Your tests ship with your code
Automated tests run on every commit. A feature without a test is not finished, and nobody will ask you to skip them to hit a date.
You release every 2 weeks
Work goes to a staging environment every 2 weeks, where the client tests it against the acceptance criteria. You see your work used early.
You write for the next engineer
Architecture notes, a runbook and a setup guide are part of the job. The client owns the repository, so your work has to stand without you.

You apply
Send your CV as a PDF, links to code or writing if you have them, and a short note. We reply to every application within 5 working days.
First conversation
A 30-minute call about your experience and how we work. You can ask us anything.
Practical exercise
A small task taken from real work, with a written brief. It takes about 3 hours. We review it with you, line by line.
Offer in writing
A final conversation, then a written offer that states the role, the terms and the start date.
Stack9 never asks applicants for money.
We charge no fee at any stage of hiring. Offers come in writing, after the steps on this page, from a Stack9 email address. If anyone asks you for payment or identity documents in our name, do not pay, and tell us through the contact page.
